Imagine never having to shave, tweeze, or wax! ‘Mediwell Med SPA & Salon’ uses only the safest, painless and effective systems for light based hair removal. In our Folsom office, we use the Palomar StarLux® Laser and Intense Pulsed Light system.
Intense light is sent through the top layers of the skin. The light targets and heats the pigment that is deeper in the skin, get rid of dark tissue and the surrounding, the lighter tissue is unaffected. Hair follicles are darker than the surrounding tissue, so the light heats the hair follicle without damaging skin cells but shutting down the hair follicle nutrition. We thoroughly cool the area before and during the procedure to ensure maximum comfort. Although it is not usually needed, we also have numbing creams available for those with very sensitive skin

People with light skin and dark hair will see the best results in the fewest number of treatments. Darker skin requires more treatment sessions. Because the light targets darker tissue, darker skin will absorb more energy. We use less energy when treating people with darker skin to prevent pigment changes on the surface.
We recommend that you stay out of the sun during your treatment period, and avoid sun tanning, spray tanning or excessive sun exposure before your treatment.
Light hair is more difficult to reduce. There is no technology which will reliably clear grey or blonde hair, but we can reduce red and light brown hair effectively. It takes more treatment due to reduction in target. Our treatments are effective on darker skin and lighter hair.
The Palomar StarLux® is remarkably effective , but you will need about 4 to 6 sessions. After the conclusion of a laser hair series of treatments, you may need a touch up sessions over time as hair is always growing at different phases.
